Week 2 | 2016

Happy Friday!

Each week a group of amazingly talented photographers from Facebook Group challenges each other to take on an assignment or weekly theme. I have joined two years ago. My first year was strong, but my second year was hard due to fostering of few really difficult and time consuming behavior issues dogs. This weekly challenge is a great way to network, get to know each other, and just try new things in general. I love being creative and I will do my best to wow you!

This week's theme is: Consider Your Vision. Each photographer has their own vision or style. The photographer's work might not follow photography rules, but what makes sense to the photographer is being translated into their work. I am all about breaking the rules we learn when we all start with photography. Rules are meant to be broken and stepping outside of my comfort zone helps me become very creative. I truly love being creative with my projects or photos of my own pups. Lately I have been interested into composite photography.

The goal of this week's challenge is to find older photo and newer photo to translate our own vision or style and how it can change in time. My style is always to capture timeless photography painted with natural light. My vision is to capture my client's fuzzy family member and capture their unique personality. Capture the look the owner loves about their goofy pet is truly the goal of each photo shoot. Being able to take candid shot of the relationship the owner has with their pets is what gets me to try even harder the next time. I could generate photos that other photographers do, but I always strive for several things that I can in a way control: 1. Connection with my subject 2. Great light 3. Personality 4. Shoot from an eye level 5. Tell a story.

Each photographer has unique vision and I am looking forward seeing works of my fellow photographers.

In early beginning I took many shots with owners and their pets. Posed and worked my best with the available light to me. Today, I strive for better presentation of light and I see the connection and just the right moment... This beautiful photo was taken few years back of my friend with her two beautiful boys.

This photo was shot two years later. The taste of what my latest work has been about. This photo might not mean a lot to other people, but means so much to my friend. The every day silly chaos with these three is what she loves about her babies. Boys are always hard to capture looking and the girl shows off. You can also see my light work. We had so much fun that day, but I will post a connection photo also. Just what a difference of working the light into my photo.

But we did also get some shots of everyone looking. My main goal is to let the light help me paint the photo, enhance mood, and help me tell the story.

Here is a bit taste of my latest work, something a bit different that I grown to like a lot also. I just love being creative with my own assignments.

I hope you enjoyed my weekly theme. Some pups are harder to photograph than others, but I had so much fun. Sweet boy Dakota is no longer with us and we took few shots so his mom can have a timeless photos of him. She knew the boys are difficult and really just wanted to have a fun session, no posing. My vision has evolved over time and I am truly pleased how much. Let it be light!

Remember, this is a circle of photographers and we try to get others participating. Please scroll down on each blog and visit the next photographer. I hope you enjoy the talent and diversity in our group. If you want to join our group let me know! Up next is  Pat Corl, Greenville TX, Field and Ranch Photography

Have fun!
